What's new

Speak-Easy has had a big upgrade.

Here's a quick tour of what's new and improved since the last time you visited. Tap anywhere outside this page to return to the suite when you're done.

Speak-Easy is now even more phone friendly

Speak-Easy-Mobile brings the suite's full platform engine into the palm of your hand. Six swipe-zones, layered tiles, your Personal info one long-press away, and the same predictions you trust on the desktop - designed from the ground up for one-handed use.

Seven layers of prediction intelligence

Seven prediction layers ignite on every keystroke - spell-check, recency, frequency, synonyms, trigrams, fragment-match, and subject-verb-object ranking - collapsing into one ranked list with the highest probability of what you want to say.

Choose your voice up front

The first time you launch the suite, a guided onboarding helps you pick a speaker voice. Pick a gender - your creations speak in your chosen gender's default voice, the tutor speaks in the opposite gender so you can tell the two apart. The platform picks the actual voice (it varies by device - your phone, tablet, or PC each ship a different default). Less hunting through Settings, more talking sooner.

A simpler, quick-start tutorial

Tap the orange ? in any app and you'll see three doors: a friendly Facade tour for quick-start, a deeper Engine Room tour for everything-explained, and a passive Reference Sheet when you just want to look something up. The Facade tour is short, walks through real examples, and gets you typing and speaking inside five minutes.

Goodbye Speak-Simply, hello Mini

We've retired Speak-Simply to make room for Speak-Easy-Mobile. Everything Speak-Simply did is still available - moved into Speak-Simply-Mini, which has been upgraded for phone-friendly use. You'll find Speak-Simply's emergency tiles and full edit capability inside Mini, with new swipe navigation and a relocated brand bar so the header doesn't crowd your screen.

Existing bookmarks for the old /speak-simply/ URL still resolve so nothing breaks while users transition.

Backup with Send-To

The backup card now reads "Last backed up: today / N days ago / never" with colour cues telling you when you're due. A new Send-To button puts your backup straight into AirDrop, iCloud, Files, or whatever your device offers - no save-dialog detour. Every sub-app can now run a full backup and every key is captured: voices, lexicon, phrases, predictions, the lot.

Sharper Lexicon engine

The pronunciation engine has been streamlined - phonetic respellings that sounded worse than the literal word were replaced with cleaner alternatives, and the seed list trimmed to a focused, reliable core. "Speak-Easy" now reads naturally, "Macca's" sounds like "maccas", and there's a new "maccies" entry for the older slang. Your customisations are preserved on upgrade.

Subtle design touches throughout

Tile borders in zone colours, a clearer stacked layout for Decisions Decisions on portrait phones, real Words-Per-Minute control for Pro Speak Stories, age-formatted backup dates that change colour as they get older, a launcher refresh button - small details across the suite that add up to a calmer, more orienting experience.

And there's more on the way…

This is a snapshot of what's landed. We've got more in the pipeline and we're always seeking your feedback - what works, what doesn't, what you'd love to see next.
